Centre de Solidarité took part in the workshop hosted by the Ministry of Health and Wellness for the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Urvashi Dabysing, Managing Director of CDS, contributed to the session on the role of NGOs in treatment and rehabilitation, alongside our Outreach Coordinator, Camie Lindor Jeanneton.

In her remarks, Urvashi reaffirmed a position we hold firmly at CDS:
“Rehabilitation cannot begin at crisis, end at discharge, and hope for the best in between. If we are serious about recovery, we need to think in systems — from early intervention to re-entry and reintegration.”

She highlighted the need for coordinated, long-term support, not only through health, but across sectors, and called for structured, consistent partnerships that respond to real conditions on the ground.
