At CDS, a graduation is not a ceremony. It is a threshold.
In the Therapeutic Community model, it marks a considered transition when an individual who has moved through each stage of residential life steps into the next phase with intention, clarity, and continuity of care.
Each graduation carries the weight of shared responsibility. It reflects the strength of the structure that held the process, the maturity of the system that accompanied it, and the readiness of the individual to take the next step without leaving the work behind.
Since 2023, CDS has recorded at least two such graduations each year. Each one stands as a quiet affirmation of the relevance of therapeutic communities, the steadiness of the teams that sustain them, and the place of recovery within public life.
