Short Biography

Maunique Prosper is a seasoned professional in the field of addiction recovery, holding a Diploma in Social Work from Charles Telfair Institute and bringing over 15 years of experience in Therapeutic Communities (TCs) and addiction support.

Her journey at CDS has taken her through all core departments, giving her a rich, well-rounded understanding of the organisation’s work—from intake and day care to residential care, reentry, and family support. Today, she serves as the Therapeutic Community Lead, where she guides the recovery process within the TC and oversees its day-to-day therapeutic structure.

Maunique leads a dedicated team of professionals as well as all interns who join CDS for training or field placement, ensuring that they are not only technically equipped but also grounded in the core values and ethics of the TC model.

A pivotal moment in Maunique’s professional development was a three-month immersive experiential training in a Therapeutic Community in Belgium, where she lived and worked within the community. The experience deepened her understanding of the TC philosophy of mutual responsibility, structured living, and peer-led growth, and continues to inform her leadership and clinical approach.

She is known for her calm presence, unwavering dedication, and her belief in the inherent potential for transformation in every person.
