Alain Durhone is the Unit Lead of Orientation at CDS, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s first line of care. He oversees the day care orientation programme, acting as the first point of contact for individuals and families entering the recovery process. His team delivers essential services including listening and support, motivational interviewing, and group facilitation, offering clients a safe, structured space to begin their journey toward healing.
Alain brings with him a long-standing commitment to community empowerment, having led various grassroots initiatives well before joining CDS over five years ago. His deep connection to community work laid the foundation for his strengths in outreach, empathy, and mobilisation.
Through a blend of formal training and lived experience, Alain has grown into a leader whose style is both inspiring and grounded. He completed a course in Social Leadership at ICJM and has participated in several specialised trainings in addiction support, counselling, and community development. His evolution has also been shaped by immersive, hands-on learning within CDS, where he continues to set an example of what ethical, compassionate leadership looks like in action.
Alain is deeply respected by his peers and the people he supports. His ability to meet others where they are, while gently guiding them toward growth, is a defining trait of his work.
